What is the bank’s mission?

What makes you different from other banks?
Central Bank of Kansas City is more than a bank. We’re a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), a designation supported by the US Treasury. As a CDFI, we have the power to combine federal resources and private capital to fund transformative projects for community development. These include affordable housing, small business loans, and healthy food initiatives. What type of accounts and services do you offer?
We offer accounts for both personal and business banking. They include checking, savings, CDs and IRAs, and credit cards. Our digital banking services allow you to access your accounts, view statements, pay bills, and more, in one place. We also offer a digital banking app for account holders that’s compatible with both Apple and Android devices.

How do you impact the community?
Operation Breakthrough: Our $11 million New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC) allocation helped expand the Operation Breakthrough campus, creating space for 300 additional K-8 students, job training and much-needed caregiver programs.
Dillons Grocery: A $14 million NMTC allocation supported the construction and equipping of a new 86,000-square-foot Dillons grocery store replacing a blighted facility in Lawrence, KS. This project not only enhanced economic growth but also created twice the jobs for the location and increased access to fresh, healthy food.
Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center: A $15 million NMTC allocation supported the construction of a new pediatric wing and parking structure, increasing essential services for infants, children and women, as well as dental and behavioral health care.
